Memorial Day at the Houseboat

This was our first houseboat weekend of the year. We had a great time even though we had a small crew. AJ learned real quick not to run through the houseboat...it was rather slippery.

AJ sits in a chair just like all the big people.

AJ and Walt enjoy the warm sun on the front deck. This is the warmest Memorial Day Weekend we have ever had...at least that I can remember.

AJ really wants Uncle Ray to show him how to drive the houseboat.

But, I guess for now, the ski boat will do. He knew exactly where the steering wheel, horn and throttle were. He must be a natural boat driver. He'll take after Grandpa for sure.

We have such a CUTIE!

AJ brings us so much joy and so many smiles! Words can't explain how blessed we feel to be parents of such a great little boy. Here are just a few pictures to show some of the things he has been "up to" lately.
AJ loves to be daring! He is now standing on his little red car. "Look Mom! No hands! But I'll close my eyes in case I fall. "

AJ eats his very own bbq chicken leg! "Yeah- this is yummy!"

One day I took care of Ty and AJ. These two boys get along so well. They make each other laugh all the time. Whatever Ty does, AJ tries to do. Whatever AJ has, Ty wants and AJ usually gives it to him without a fight. (Ty is much bigger, AJ doesn't stand a chance)

A few weeks ago we had our backyard landscaped. It looks so much nicer. Now there is a safe place for AJ to run and play. Well, he is supposed to play on the grass, but the steps look like fun too. It's a good thing we got the new Baby Guard Fence.

AJ discovers how fun puddles can be.

Ahh- here's the grass. "Look mom, I am getting the hang of walking on grass!"

Tiff and Brian's Wedding

Tiffany and Brian are now Married! April 29th was the big day. We are so excited for the two of them. The wedding day was a beautiful day, tons of fun, and VERY busy. Because Walt and I had our hands full with our duties of being part of the wedding (me a Bride's maid and AJ the ring bearer) and being parents to a 15 month old "runner" we didn't get to take many pictures. In fact, we have very few. We are relying on friends and family to give us cd's or emails including pictures from the whole day. Here are just a few of the pictures I DO have.
Here we are: Siena, Me, Tiffany, and Tracie at the Hotel Diamond. What a beautiful Bride!

Here is AJ at the end of the big day. Yes, he was supposed to be the ring bearer, but he never did make it down the aisle. He ran back to Daddy once he noticed all the people looking right at him. He sure was cute though. (Sadly, I didn't take any pictures of him with his clothes ON. I sure hope someone will give us a couple.)

Our Trip to Denver

At the very beginning of April, Walt, AJ, and I flew to Denver to visit our dear, dear friends Bryan and Megan. We stayed in their lovely home for 4 day. They were such great hosts. Bryan and Megan drove us all around; we saw and did so many thing in and around town. Thank you so much Bryan and Megan for such a wonderful time! (I am so sorry it has taken me over a month to get these pictures on my blog.)

Bryan, Megan, and Berkley in front of their charming home. Megan did an amazing job of decorating and making it "Home." We saw pictures of her Sacramento "Family" all over the walls.

AJ get acquainted with Berkley. He loves dogs. Berkley was so good at putting up with AJ always petting him or taking his ball away.

Our first full day, Bryan and Megan took us to the Butterfly Pavilion. There were so many butterflies and other insects to look at. AJ had a great time.

Here we are in front of the capital. AJ hasn't even been to the capital building in Sacramento yet.
One day we went hiking in Boulder. This was a great day trip. The views were so amazing. We hiked the trail to the "Flat Irons." We all took turns pushing or carrying AJ up and down the mountain. What a workout! AJ had a blast. He even did a little "hiking" by himself. Here is AJ and Aunt Megan on our Hike. What a great Time!

Thanks again Bryan and Megan for being such great hosts and WONDERFUL friends. We can't wait for you to come back to Sac for a visit.

AJ Turns 1!!

I can't believe our little guy is already one year old. I haven't updated this blog for months now. AJ has accomplished so much since then. The biggest news is that he is now a year old and walking. He started taking just a couple steps just days before his birthday. Now he can walk across the room. So exciting! We are so happy...although, now we really have to keep an eye on him. Here are some pictures from his first birthday party. I hope you enjoy.

This is AJ blowing out the candle on his birthday cake. He didn't really blow, but I am sure his wish was to have some cake because Grandpa sure granted that a little later.

Until today, AJ hadn't had any sweets. I knew that because I have such a sweet tooth AJ was sure to like sweets too. I was sure right. Once Grandpa gave him his own Ice Cream Cone Cupcake that was all he focused on until it was gone. Yum Yum! (This was not my idea)

I think AJ really enjoyed getting lots of gifts for his birthday...at least he really liked the paper that was wrapped around them. We had fun watching AJ play with his new toys. Thank you to everyone who came to the party and for the gifts too.

(Of course, these are only a couple of the 100 pictures we took at the party. You'll have to see my scrapbook in person to view the whole day's events.)

This picture is AJ at the play place in the mall. (A couple weeks after his birthday.) He loved the slide. I think Walt and I will have to take him there more often.
